BACKGROUND:
Sarah Stevens obtained her law degree from the University of Calgary in 2006, Sarah achieved the Dean’s List distinction in her second year of law studies and worked as a summer student with Scott Venturo LLP during her first and second years of study. Upon graduation, Sarah articled with Scott Venturo and was called to the Alberta Bar in 2007 and has remained with Scott Venturo as an associate.
Since joining Scott Venturo LLP, Sarah has developed a corporate/commercial solicitor’s practice providing advice on a wide variety of corporate governance and shareholder matters. Sarah’s corporate/commercial practice encompasses a variety of matters including corporate organization and reorganization, mergers and acquisitions and financing. Sarah’s solicitor practice also includes experience in preparing asset purchase and share purchase agreements, shareholder agreements, employment contracts, commercial leases, and a variety of other transactions. Sarah has also developed experience in commercial real estate transactions and development projects. She has developed experience in securities matters, primarily for private issuers and exempt market products.
Sarah also has experience in the area of general civil litigation. Sarah’s civil litigation practice largely included working with her corporate clients to assist in the resolution of any disputes. She appeared before the Provincial Court of Alberta and the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta on numerous occasions. Sarah also has experience in the area of mediation and judicial dispute resolution.
