PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND:
Rick Tanner obtained his law degree
from the University of Manitoba in 2003. He was called to the Alberta Bar in 2004 and practiced as an Associate with a prominent national firm in Calgary, where he carried a general civil litigation practice focusing on commercial disputes, shareholder rights, director's liability and construction litigation. Upon joining Scott Venturo LLP in the fall of 2005, he has continued to practice in general civil litigation, focusing primarily on insurance defence work and commercial litigation.
Rick has conducted trials at the Provincial Court of Alberta. He has also assisted with trials at the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench and the Alberta Court of Appeal. He has extensive experience with a variety of forms of alternate dispute resolution, including arbitration, mediation and judicial dispute resolution.
