PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND:
John McDougall obtained his law degree
from UBC in 1988 and his Masters of Law Degree from
Cambridge University (UK) in 1990. He articled in Calgary
with a medium sized firm and practiced with that firm
until 1999. In 2000, he founded McKee McDougall & Stewart.
He joined Scott Hall LLP in October, 2001, and has
been a partner since 2003.
John's litigation practice includes primarily insurance
defense matters and condominium litigation, wrongful
dismissal or employment law and general commercial
litigation. Mr. McDougall also acts as General Counsel
for a prominent local Indian Band.
He has appeared and conducted trials and appeals
before the Court of Queen’s Bench and the Court
of Appeal as well as appearing at numerous mini-trials,
mediations and Judicial Dispute Resolutions.
